Ogden Museum of Southern Art will host a Free Family Day on Saturday, September 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Museum invites the community and visitors to join them as the Museum celebrates its 20th birthday. During the free admission day, visitors can enjoy birthday party themed games, art activities and family-friendly entertainment.

Michelle Pontiff, Education Manager, Ogden Museum of Southern Art, states “It’s not every year a museum gets to turn 20 years old. Since opening its doors, Ogden Museum has been focused on building a relationship with the New Orleans Community, so what better way to celebrate the occasion with them? The day not only celebrates the Museum, but the community as well. We can’t wait to see everyone!”

Birthday party themed games will include: “Pin the Tail on the Universal Mule,” “Craft Your Own Birthday Hat,” an interactive birthday themed mural wall, a photobooth and face painting. In addition to the festive games, a museum-wide scavenger hunt will take place exploring the Museum’s special 20th anniversary exhibition, Knowing Who We Are: A 20th Anniversary Exhibition.

Hands-on art activities will feature crafts administered by community partners Macaroni KID, New Orleans Public Library, COX Communications and NOLA Books and Brains.
