Communications Internship (In-Person)

Ogden Museum accepts Communications Interns throughout the year. Students will gain experience in graphic design, content writing, website management, media relations and photography. To apply, please email a resume and cover letter to pr@ogdenmuseum.org.

Education Internship (In-Person)

Students who have an interest in pursuing a career in the arts, education or museums are encouraged to apply. The internship is unpaid, but can be used for academic credit. 

Ogden Museum’s Education Internship Program aims to connect young professionals to a career in the arts and museum field. The Education Internship Program serves New Orleans area college and university students with the goal of building professional networks, developing leadership skills and empowering young professionals to continue the pursuit of higher education and a career in the arts. The internship provides immersion in a museum environment and ample opportunities to work alongside museum professionals and exhibiting artists. The Education Internship Program provides a résumé-building opportunity.

The Education Intern will work closely with the Director of Education and Education Manager to assist with the planning and organization of activities presented by the Education Department. The Education Intern will assist in the creation of the education department’s educational content with a focus on audience engagement and interpretation. The intern will also assist with the operation of Ogden Museum Summer Camps and Museum tours.

Goal: At the completion of the internship program, the intern will have gained a better understanding of careers in museum and arts education.

Teen Internships (In-Person)


Ogden Museum of Southern Art’s Teen Internship Program, formerly the Ogden Museum Teen Docent Program, is designed to provide teens a space to explore the arts and develop their creative voice.

  • Participate in monthly instructional art workshops and encounters with artists, educators and museum staff
  • Expand knowledge of the arts and related careers
  • Serve as assistants for Ogden Museum’s Summer Art Camp
  • Learn how to give guided tours to Museum visitors
  • Earn a monthly stipend for participation
