Communications Internship – Not Currently Accepting Applications

Ogden Museum accepts Communications Interns throughout the year. Students will gain experience in graphic design, content writing, website management, media relations and photography. Education Internship (Virtual and In-Person)- Now Accepting Applications for Summer 2021

The Education Intern will work closely with the Director of Education and Education Coordinator to assist with the planning and organization of activities coordinated by the Education Department. Education Intern will assist in the creation of the education department’s online content with a focus on audience engagement and interpretation, art activities and additional educational content.

Goal: At the completion of the internship program, the intern will have gained a better understanding of Museum and arts education and digital content creation.

 Internship Guidelines

  • Internships are project-based (approx. 10-20 hours per week).
  • The majority of the internship will be conducted virtually through Zoom, email and phone communications.
  • If in-person work is needed, it will proceed in accordance with CDC guidelines; maintaining a safe social distance and wearing face coverings.
  • This position is an unpaid, part-time position. This position can be used for college credit if applicable.

Responsibilities:

  • Create weekly O-riginal Art Activity and Movement Monday Activity
  • Research for special projects
  • Develop content for O-Blog
  • Assist with departmental administration: manage contact lists, prep program packets and art supplies
  • Education program outreach and promotion
  • Additional projects developed in collaboration with intern based on their input and interests

Expectations:

  • Attend Zoom weekly check in with Education Coordinator
  • Complete all projects in a timely manner

Qualifications:

  • Internship is open to students pursuing an undergraduate degree. Students pursuing a degree in Fine Arts, Art History, Museum Studies or Education are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Interest in the arts, education, working with children and teenagers
  • Experience working in an educational setting helpful
  • Background in the arts helpful
  • Strong interpersonal skills required
  • Strong writing and research skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Comfortable interacting with the public
