Communications Intern

The Ogden Museum of Southern Art is seeking one part-time communications intern (undergraduate or graduate) to assist the communications department with social media, content writing, event listing submissions, website updates, graphic design, short videos and other communications efforts.

This is an unpaid internship, although college credit may be available through your school. The schedule is flexible based on your availability, and some work can be done remotely.

  • Strong writing skills
  • Familiarity with social media trends and management
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is preferred, but not required
  • Video editing skills preferred, but not required
  • Must have a smart phone and personal computer

Education Intern

The Education Intern will work closely with the Director of Education and Education Assistant to assist with the planning and organizing of activities coordinated by the Education Department such as docent led tours, summer camps the Summer Teen Docent Program, Ogden After Hours art activities and Free Family Days. Additional duties may include research for special projects and assisting other areas of the museum as requested. The intern will also be expected to perform general departmental duties, such as preparation of program packets, creating educational materials, correspondence, social media and scheduling.

This position is an un-paid, part-time position. This position can be used for college credit if applicable.


  • Interest in the arts, education, working with children and teenagers.
  • Experience working in an educational setting helpful
  • Strong interpersonal skills required
  • Strong writing and research skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Comfortable interacting with the public
  • This internship is open to applicants who have completed at least one year of college
  • Applicants with a major in Art History, Art Education, Fine/Studio Art or Museum Studies are preferred
