Smithsonian Museum Day 2019

Smithsonian Museum day is an annual celebration of boundless curiosity hosted by Smithsonian Magazine. Participating museums and cultural institutions across the country provide free entry to anyone presenting a Museum Day ticket. The Museum Day ticket provides free admission for two people on Saturday, September 21, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Museum day acts as a springboard to empower and help advance the hopes and ambitions of the public, particularly school-aged children and those in underrepresented communities. Artist Workshop: Observing the Inner Landscape A Pastel Workshop Exploring Abstraction

Inspired by artist Will Henry Stevens’ use of familiar representational motifs alongside abstract improvisations, this workshop will explore the fundamentals of pastel techniques and approaches to landscape, with an emphasis on inner observation through a led mindfulness practice.
