Join us for a film screening of “Hands on a Hardbody,” the second event in a three part film series exploring the South over time. “Hands on a Hardbody” is a documentary about a competition to win a hardbody truck in a small Texas town. It is one of the most enduring and charming portraits of Southern life during the mid-90s and spawned a Broadway musical and a feature screenplay from acclaimed director Robert Altman.

This event is free and open to the public, thanks to the generous support of The Helis Foundation. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Limited seating is available on a first come, first seated basis.

Due to its historic architecture, access to the Patrick F. Taylor Library at the Ogden Museum may only be accessed via a flight of stairs. Therefore, a viewing of the film will be made available on a 55″ LED screen in an accessible space at the Museum concurrent with the scheduled screening in the Patrick F. Taylor Library. PLACE OVER TIME: Perspectives on the South Through Film is a film and conversation series co-organized by Ogden Museum of Southern Art and The Next Orleans Film Society. The series showcases three films by Southern filmmakers with different perspectives on the Southern experience. Screenings will be held at Ogden Museum and the series is free and open to the public, thanks to the generous support of The Helis Foundation.
