Art Studi-O Abstract Painting with Shawn Hall

/// May 9 @ 10:00 am - 1:30 pm

Join artist Shawn Hall in an exploration of acrylic painting and visual language in this workshop inspired by the exhibition Vicinal Visions. Participants will investigate the concept of vicinal, which suggests the development of a personal, localized visual language.

Some painting experience is helpful but not necessary. What is necessary is a conceptual interest in an idea to express, be that about nature, a personal experience or something about the world around you. With their personal interest in mind, participants will be asked to develop an idea through symbolic or gestural language while mixing colors from a basic palette. Participants will develop their idea through one or more paintings. By the end of the workshop, participants will have explored their own visual language through gesture and color.

All materials are provided. Must be 18 or older to attend.
The workshop includes a brief tour of the exhibition Vicinal Visions.
