Join Museum Educator Myron Solomon, Jr., for a four-week journey into oil pastels.
Over four weeks, students will explore the expressive possibilities of oil pastels through hands-on projects designed to build comfort and confidence with every stroke. Each session introduces a new subject such as still life, landscape, abstract and portraiture. Guiding participants through core techniques such as layering, blending and mark making. In this relaxed, focused environment, you can unwind, enjoy the feel of pastel on paper and deepen your connection to the medium.
Supplies provided, but personal pastel sets and sketchbooks are encouraged.

Myron Solomon, Jr. is an interdisciplinary visual artist from New Orleans. A Dillard University BFA and School of Visual Arts MFA graduate, his work pushes beyond traditional New Orleans art while honoring its cultural roots. Exploring existential themes, Myron uses hyperbole to evoke introspection in his audience. His passion for the arts extends to education, where he shares his knowledge with youth, aiming to inspire the same transformative experiences that shaped his own journey.
