Want to Create a Mural in Downtown New Orleans? Check out the Unframed project!

Want to create a mural in Downtown New Orleans? You’re in luck! The Arts Council of New Orleans and The Helis Foundation are launching a new project to establish a series of small murals in the Arts Warehouse District.

Unframed: Presented by The Helis Foundation will be Downtown’s first multi-mural exhibition, commissioning both local and international artist to paint murals in the New Orleans Arts District. The Ogden Museum is proud to serve as one of the locations and our Executive Director, William Pittman Andrews, has been chosen as one of the six members of the selection committee.

With the vision of making New Orleans the South’s leading mural arts city, Unframed’s inaugural exhibition will debut in the Spring of 2019. The murals, though not related by a common theme, will create a stimulating visual identity that complements the district’s creative energy and enriches the experiences of visitors.

There’s still time to submit your qualifications! The deadline for submissions is Sept. 2, 2018. To apply, visit www.artsneworleans.org.
