After viewing Lena Kolb’s piece in Louisiana Contemporary, Presented by The Helis Foundation, the artist will discuss her work, her practice and how she creates a tapestry from sketch to the finished piece. Students will leave this hands-on workshop with an understanding of how to make a unique hand woven tapestry and the confidence to continue to explore weaving on their own. Skills taught include learning to warp a frame loom, plain weaving and creating shapes and patterns. No weaving experience necessary. Register soon, as this class is limited to 10 registrants.
