Artist Workshop: Exploring Level Artist Collective Planning and Creating an Art Installation
/// November 23, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Event Navigation
Several of the artists in Level Artist Collective incorporate installation as a means to express their vision of “home.” Installation refers to immersive, three-dimensional works that often are site-specific and designed to transform the perception of a space. This workshop will give you the resources to design and implement your own small installation sourced from drawing, painting, photography, collage and found-object sculptures. The workshop will begin with a visual assessment of the artworks and a guided meditation led by Museum Educator Mikhayla Anderson. Next, using a multi-media approach, participants will explore the concept of “home” and construct a temporary installation work of art examining that concept. As always, materials are provided but feel free to bring source materials or supplies that might enhance your creative narrative.
