Celebrating Women’s History Month The Work of MaPo Kinnord

MaPo Kinnord, Stormy, 2015, Stoneware and acrylic paint

In celebration of Women’s History Month, we’re focusing our attention on the amazing work of female artists featured throughout the O! This piece, for example, is a ceramic sculpture by local artist MaPo Kinnord.

Kinnord is a sculptor and potter primarily, but she’s also an educator and woman dedicated to female empowerment. Her work is currently featured in Per(Sister): Incarcerated Women in Louisiana, an exhibition contemplating issues surrounding female incarceration, and she spends the second Saturday of every month working to increase access to menstrual care and education via the organization Days For Girls.

Come see Kinnord’s work in person on view now at the O! Happy Women’s History Month!
