Carol Peebles

Bio

Founder and CEO of BlueEaselClub.com, Carol Peebles works to continue the tradition of classical realist life drawing through her Atelier classes and commissions. A New Orleans native, she received her MFA from Penn State University, BA from the University of New Orleans, but attributes her learning of classical realism to Master painter Auseklis Ozols, Director of the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts. Currently showing in New York City at the National Arts Club with the Pastel Society of America, Carol’s work focuses on pastel portraits, drawn from life, to celebrate the people in her immediate environment. Her works can be found in North Light publications Strokes of Genius 6: The Best of Drawing, and  Art Journey: Portraits and Figures, The Best of Contemporary Drawing. Past international exhibitions include the International Association of Pastel Societies at the Salmagundi Club, NY, NY; The Sixteenth Biennial Degas Pastel Society at Academy Galleries, New Orleans, LA; and the Pastel Society of America at the National Arts Club, NY, NY. She has been on Faculty at Louisiana State University, The University of New Orleans, Pennsylvania State University and currently teaches at The New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts, and her drawing Atelier, BlueEaselClub.com.
