Michael Eble, Celebration, Acrylic and collaged paper on canvas
Michael Eble was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. He received a BFA in painting from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and a MFA in painting and drawing from the University of Mississippi, in Oxford, Mississippi. He is currently Curator of Events & Exhibitions for the College of the Arts at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Michael continues to produce artwork that focuses on the element of water and its relationship to humans and the environment.
Supplies
Scissors, Glue stick, Cardstock, Pattern Paper or Color Paper
Instructions
Step 1: Look at Michael Eble’s artwork, Celebration. What shapes, colors and patterns do you notice?
Step 2: Think about what colors and shapes you want in your artwork. Artists often use the colors in abstract art to express feelings and emotions. How do the colors in Eble’s artwork make you feel? What feeling do you want to express? What color makes you think of that feeling?
Step 3: Starting with one color, use scissors to cut out shapes from pattern paper or color paper. Next, cut out a variety of shapes from paper of different colors and patterns.
Step 4: Think about how you want to arrange the shapes in your collage. Once you have decided on the composition of your artwork, use a glue stick to create your collage.

Michael Eble nació en Nueva Orleans, Luisiana. Posee una licenciatura en bellas artes con especialización en pintura por la Universidad de Luisiana en Lafayette y una maestría en bellas artes con especialización en pintura y dibujo por la Universidad de Misisipi, en Oxford, Misisipi. Actualmente, trabaja como curador del área de Eventos y Exhibiciones de la Escuela de Artes de la Universidad de Luisiana en Lafayette. Instrucciones
