“I was very impressed by the wide range of styles and offerings. This museum showcases how diverse the South and its artists have been and will continue to be.”
“This place is fabulous! Great variety of Southern artists, beautiful space. Really made me reconsider my assumptions about the South.”
“One thing that I enjoy about this museum is that it has a little something for everyone. There is vibrant and colorful art perfect for little eyes to view as well as striking art from well-known local artists for adult viewing pleasure. With five floors of art, I’m always sure to find my next favorite painter, sketcher or sculptor when I walk through the doors of Ogden.”
“Surprising and delightful museum. This museum is a piece of heaven in New Orleans! The art was incredible. In addition, I had a chance to learn about Southern artists. Please go!”
“One of our trip highlights! This is a beautiful museum with wonderfully curated shows. My daughter and I spent quite a bit of time there and were thoroughly absorbed by the William Christenberry show – his wide-ranging work, influences and commitment to the complexities of the South. The building, itself, is fantastic and the works are accessible. Thank you!”
“Wonderful permanent collection of African American art. Seeing the work of some African American artists from the early part of the 20th century was a highlight of my visit to New Orleans.”
“Fantastic exhibit on New Southern Photography. Visited on a rainy afternoon in mid-December and thoroughly enjoyed the special exhibit and permanent work….The Museum is modern, professionally curated, and it’s easy to move around the galleries”
“Excellent museum with fascinating art. We usually visit the Ogden each time we come to New Orleans. They have wonderful shows. The emphasis today was on Southern photography and Southern artists. Since it was MLK day today — it was open free to the public and they had many activities for families and kids. It was fun to see all the activities. This is a must visit place.”
