James Michalopoulos is a painter and sculptor based in the city of New Orleans. Over the past 36 years, Michalopoulos has created a singular body of work with a strong sense of place. He has been chosen as the official artist for the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival six times, and his works are held in private and public collections throughout the world. He continues to live and work in New Orleans, and, for the past ten years, has maintained a second studio in the rural Mâconnais district of France.
