Ogden Museum of Southern Art is thrilled for Magnolia Ball on Saturday, June 11, a fun evening of art, music and festive celebration. This summer event is fast approaching and the list of art and packages from regional artists and businesses for our online silent auction is truly impressive with over 80 items!⁣ Here is a sneak peek of some of the available items in the Magnolia Ball Silent Auction:

Ann Marie Auricchio is a native New Yorker, currently living and working in New Orleans, LA. She received her BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art and is represented by Octavia Gallery in New Orleans, Michael Warren Contemporary Denver and EDNA Contemporary in San Luis Obispo, CA. Her work has also been exhibited at The Alexandria Museum, LA; White Columns Gallery, NY; The Painting Center, NY and has work in both private and corporate collections. She has most recently been a recipient of a Joan Mitchell Center artist residency during fall/winter 2021-22.

Sesthasak Boonchai is a creative nomad and educator whose work runs the gamut through drawing, painting, time-based media, photography and installation. He explores the effects of time and distance on how we construct memories. The habitual way people, places and things tend to linger just a bit too long here in New Orleans serves as tremendous inspiration.

As an educator he has taught at The New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts, University of New Orleans, The School of Visual Arts, Tulane University and Maine College of Art. His creative work has been exhibited at The Mississippi Museum of Art, The New Orleans Museum of Art, Contemporary Arts Center (New Orleans), Ogden Museum of Southern Art and others.

He is currently based in New Orleans and is co-founder of Pack/Peel/Pour, a publisher dedicated to instant photographic objects.

Cocktail & Sons, Best Seller Sample Pack

Cocktail & Sons is the brainchild of husband and wife team Max Messier and Lauren Myerscough, award winning bartenders and spirits consultants based in New Orleans, LA. With a successful track record of producing notable cocktail programs in high-profile bars and restaurants, they decided to focus their culinary efforts towards revitalizing the forgotten concept of the home bar. They pulled out all of the recipes they had concocted over the years and worked in tandem to produce a line of all-natural and handcrafted syrups and mixers designed for classic cocktails and sodas.

All of the syrups are produced with natural ingredients, local produce and real sugars grown by Louisiana farmers – no additives, coloring agents or artificial additives.

Presently working and residing in New Orleans LA, Alex Sorapuru’s passion for creating grew from his early days in his hometown and current architecture profession. Centered around abstract portraits, his work engages in topics of sexuality, visibility and interpersonal relationships. A combination of organic and constructed line work compliments the layers of color blocking in each piece.

Tchoup Industries’ mission is to build bags that support our Southern Louisiana community, that have a reduced impact on our natural environment and that instill a spirit of exploration. Our backpacks, shoulder bags and accessories are designed and handmade in our Algiers Point studio here in New Orleans. The bags are made using all natural or upcycled materials that are locally sourced whenever possible.

Bidding for the online Silent Auction, featuring art and packages from regional artists and businesses, opens June 3 and will be on view at Ogden Museum through June 12. You are also invited to join us this Friday, June 3 for the Silent Auction Preview Party! Attendees will be able to view and bid on various works of art by artists of the South and enjoy a cash bar. Your Silent Auction purchase not only supports Ogden Museum, but also Silent Auction artists and businesses who receive a percentage of final sales.
