NEW ORLEANS – In collaboration with The New Orleans (LA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, Ogden Museum of Southern Art is pleased to present the eleventh annual HBCU Art Showcase, a curated show of works by 32 students attending Dillard University and Xavier University of Louisiana. The exhibition is on view at the Museum through September 29, 2024.
The HBCU Art Showcase is the opening event for The New Orleans (LA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated’s “Links Love HBCUs” program. As the chapter’s signature art event, the HBCU Art Showcase is designed to spotlight works of art created by students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in the greater New Orleans area and provide an opportunity to celebrate those artists with the goals of enhancing cultural awareness and facilitating artist exposure, expression and collaboration.
The HBCU Art Showcase has been presented annually in Ogden Museum’s Education Gallery, a space designated to honor the teaching of art and works created by students in the Southern region of the United States. To date, over 125 HBCU artists from New Orleans’ three HBCUs have participated in the annual showcase. This year’s showcase features artwork by students attending Dillard University and Xavier University of Louisiana.

A fundamental objective of Ogden Museum is to create programs that explore the diversity of backgrounds, experiences and ideas that artists and viewers bring to the museum experience. To this end, the Museum’s Learning and Engagement Department seeks to present a variety of perspectives and points of view to broaden and enrich our understanding of the world.
