About Blind Texas Marlin
John Curry started Blind Texas Marlin as a solo project in New Orleans, Louisiana shortly before Hurricane Katrina. After the Storm, Curry fell in with a group of musicians and formed a proper band. The band toured the United States in various incarnations for a few year until 2015. From 2015 till 2022, Blind Texas Marlin had its first consistent line up of 5 members. During this time the band held a 10 year residency at the Circle Bar and a 2 year residency at One Eyed Jacks – both well-known music venues in the city at the time. In 2020 both residencies came to an end due to the halt of live music during the COVID-19 Pandemic. The 5 piece band will play its first show in over a year at Ogden Museum’s OAH taking place on January 18.
