Artist Workshop: Exploring Memory is a Strange Bell The Art of William Christenberry
/// October 26, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
The work of William Christenberry spans from pioneering color photography, abstract expressionist paintings, sculptures and some lesser-known ink and pencil drawings. Using ink and large format paper, Museum Educator Mikhayla Anderson will lead participants in an investigation of Christenberry’s abstract reflections of the gourd tree, so prevalently displayed throughout Hale County. What do you notice in the Louisiana country-side? What objects call for your attention? What inspires you to abstraction? Each session begins with a visual assessment of the artworks and a brief guided meditation. It is our hope that these moments of concentration and quiet mindfulness will enhance your artistic experience. As always, materials are provided, but feel free to bring source materials or supplies that might enhance your creative narrative.
