Join Louisiana Contemporary, presented by The Helis Foundation, artist Paige Valente in a textile workshop.

Exploring New Orleans’ sense of place and community, participants will create a mixed media textile square inspired by their neighborhood. The project is finalized by adhering the square to a tote bag for “making groceries” or adding the square to a community quilt created with the group.

The workshop includes an artist-led tour of Louisiana Contemporary, presented by the Helis Foundation.

All workshops are conducted in a friendly and welcoming environment. All materials are provided. All levels are welcomed.

About Paige Valente

Paige Valente is an artist and art educator who has been living and working in New Orleans for nearly 20 years. Valente holds a BFA in Graphic Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design and an MA in Art Education from Boston University. She is a practitioner of inquiry-based learning and arts-based research where questions guide art-making and the investigative process. Outside of the studio, Valente is a dedicated mother, an avid runner and power yoga practitioner. She is a passionate and active member of the New Orleans cultural community.
