Join Louisiana Contemporary, presented by The Helis Foundation artist Diego Larguia in a watercolor workshop.
The day will begin with an artist-led tour of the exhibition Louisiana Contemporary, presented by The Helis Foundation. Next, Larguia will demonstrate watercolor techniques, focusing on a provided reference image. Participants will then create their own paintings inspired by the exhibition for the rest of the session. By the end of the workshop, all participants will leave with a completed watercolor artwork.
All workshops are conducted in a friendly and welcoming environment. All materials are provided and all levels are welcomed.

joinAbout Diego Larguia
Diego Larguia is an artist and educator living in New Orleans. His life-inspired luminous watercolors celebrate both the South and beyond. A self-described “paintaholic,” Larguia paints with a direct approach both en plein air and in the studio. Trained as an Academic painter, his work is expressive yet formal in structure. With 30+ years of painting experience and 20+ years of teaching, Larguia has been involved in the New Orleans art scene, showing in galleries and Museums across the South. Larguia was also featured in “American Artist Magazine.” Diego Larguia’s work can be found in prominent private and public collections.
