Discover the joy of textile transformation in Block Printing for Textiles, a beginner-friendly workshop led by Lizz Freeman.
Participants will learn the art of block carving and printing on salvaged textiles. Inspired by Tina Girouard’s use of symbols in her work, participants will design their own symbols to print on repurposed fabrics. This hands-on experience promises to ignite passion for textile arts while promoting sustainable practices in crafting.
This workshop includes a brief exhibition tour of Tina Girouard: SIGN-IN.
All workshops are conducted in a friendly and welcoming environment, and all materials are provided. For ages 18+

Lizz Freeman, a New Orleans-based fiber artist, delves into the creative realm with a unique approach, utilizing second-hand and salvaged materials to craft her work. From cyanotypes to quilting to thread paintings, Freeman’s exploration of textiles showcases a diverse array of techniques. Beyond her artistic endeavors, she plays a pivotal role as the Executive Director of Ricrack, a nonprofit dedicated to diverting textiles from landfills while fostering community engagement through fiber arts education.
