Join ceramicist Christian Đinh for an exploration of traditional ceramic techniques. The workshop begins with an artist demo by Đinh where he will detail techniques in mapping and laying glaze designs onto a ceramic piece. Đinh references imagery that is reminiscent of his childhood, growing up within Vietnamese culture. Attendees will develop their own imagery and learn how to apply the imagery in traditional “blue and white” glaze to a porcelain piece.

The workshop includes a brief tour of Knowing Who We Are: A 20th Anniversary Exhibition Made Possible by the Terra Foundation for American Art.

All materials will be provided. Participants are encouraged to bring a reference image they would like to “paint” such as personal or cultural iconography.

Finished pieces will be fired after the conclusion of the workshop.
