Tuesday, March 31 & Tuesday, April 7 | 1 – 4 p.m. – Meet at Ogden Museum

Join teaching artist Ben Hamburger in a workshop series exploring the natural landscape through painting.

Using the natural landscape as inspiration, this workshop series will focus on simplifying and organizing visual information into strong compositions of shape and color. The first session will take place off-site at City Park. At the park, participants will sketch, consider composition and collect reference materials. The following two sessions will take place at Ogden Museum. At the Museum, participants will view examples of artwork from throughout history, discuss key concepts and build foundational skills through painting exercises. Utilizing what they have learned, participants will create their own landscape painting.

The workshop is open to acrylic and oil painters of all abilities with at least some prior foundational painting experience. Must be 18 or older to attend.

All materials are provided. Acrylic paint and all other required materials will be provided, but students are welcome to bring their own paint and materials as well.
