Bio
Lammie-Hanson is essentially a contemporary portrait expressionist. Her emphasis is primarily on the psyche of the individual who is a silent soul. These subjects invoke a yearning to communicate their personal story with just one eye and closed lips. In her recent series “Barna Black” which she created in artist residency in Barcelona Spain, Lammie-Hanson’s use of a simple sliver of silver (also known as silverpoint) drawn over a black background of charcoal and/or black chalk makes a bold statement of impression of afflictions and reflections of light on the skin.
