Wendo Brunoir is a young contemporary visual artist from the United States, born in 1982. Brunoir had been selected to exhibit in Louisiana Contemporary Presented by the Helis Foundation for the past two consecutive years.
Supplies
Acrylic Paint, Brush, Paper Towels, Paper, Cup of Water
Instructions
Step 1: Look at Wendo’s piece, If You Want to Swim, Go to Coney Island. Notice how there are different forms and shapes that make up this artwork. The artist applies paint with controlled brush strokes to paint sharp lines that form the shapes. He also uses a variety of colors to create movement within the work. First think of how you will create a painting like Wendo. In your painting, what colors will you use? What shapes will you paint? How will you form the shapes?
Step 2: Find an area inside your house where you can freely paint or an area outside where it’s okay to get messy. Ask a parent or guardian.
Step 3: Let’s get creative! Pick a shape to start your painting. Try to have a shape that is the focus in the center of the painting like in the image (focal point). Use a brush to apply the paint to the paper. It is ok if your shapes are not perfect as this is an abstract painting. Make sure to focus on the motion of your brushstrokes and placement of color.
Step 4: Remember to wash off your brush when changing colors. Repeat Step 3 with a different shape or color.
Step 5: Once you are finished, take pictures of your artwork to share with your friends and family.

Wendo Brunoir es un joven artista visual contemporáneo de los Estados Unidos, nacido en 1982. Brunoir fue seleccionado para exponer en Luisiana Contemporánea, presentada por la Fundación Helis los últimos dos años consecutivos.
Materiales
Papel, pintura acrílica, pincel, servilletas de papel, taza de agua.
Instrucciones
Paso 1: Observa la obra de Wendo, Si quieres nadar, ve a Coney Island. Observa cómo hay diferentes formas y figuras que componen esta obra de arte. El artista aplica pintura con pinceladas controladas para pintar las líneas nítidas que componen las formas. También usa una variedad de colores para crear movimiento dentro de la obra. Primero piensa en cómo crearás una pintura como Wendo. En tu pintura, ¿qué colores usarás? ¿Qué formas pintarás? ¿Cómo formarás las formas?
Paso 2: Busca un área dentro de tu casa donde puedas pintar libremente o un área afuera donde esté bien ensuciarse. Pídele permiso a un padre o tutor.
Paso 3: ¡Pongámonos creativos! Elige una forma para comenzar a pintar. Trata de tener una forma que sea el foco en el centro de la pintura como en la imagen (punto focal). Usa un pincel para aplicar la pintura en el papel. Está bien si tus formas no son perfectas, ya que se trata de una pintura abstracta. Asegúrate de concentrarte en el movimiento de tus pinceladas y la ubicación del color.
Paso 4: Recuerda lavar el pincel cuando cambies de color. Repite el paso 3 con una forma o color diferente.
Paso 5: Cuando termines, toma fotos de tu obra de arte, para compartirla con tus amigos y familia.

Pintura: una obra de arte realizada en una superficie como lienzo o madera con pigmento al óleo o acrílico; generalmente 2D.
