Artist Spotlight: Mimi Logothetis

July 12 – September 23, 2018

Opening Reception: Thursday, July 12 @ 6 – 8 p.m.
In conjunction with the Museum’s live music series, Ogden After Hours.

The Center for Southern Craft & Design presents the porcelain work of Mimi Logothetis who lives and works in Cedar Grove, NC.  She prefers porcelain for its purity, starkness, density, strength and translucency and she uses a proprietary printing technique to apply graphics to the surface to tell stories or wry jokes. Her work focuses on environmental issues, man vs. nature and human interpersonal issues, man vs. man.  Sculpturally, Mimi uses light inside very thin, translucent walls to illuminate ideas from inside. She has recently collaborated with lighting and furniture designers, Skram Furniture, to create a line of chandeliers, as well as floor, and pendant lamps.
