Artist Cynthia Ramirez will discuss the traditional elements and cultural significance of altar building and then guide participants through a hands-on art activity to create altar elements that will be incorporated into the museum’s community ofrenda.
Participants will leave with a complete resource packet including curriculum units, activity guides and materials that can be immediately implemented in their classrooms to help students understand and appreciate this important Latin American tradition.
