Mississippi artist, Walter Anderson, used seven motifs to create his paintings and ceramics. Anderson is known for his use of repetition to create his watercolors depicting nature.

Supplies List:

Markers, Glue, Cardstock, Scissors

Instructions:

Step 1: Pick your favorite animal from the templates.

Step 2: Using a marker and the motifs below draw details on the animals.

Step 3: Use scissors to cut out the animals.

Step 4: Use a glue stick to glue your animals to the paper. Think about pattern, repetition and balance when arranging the animals.

Step 5: Draw an environment for your animals to live in.
