Join artist and educator, Mikhayla Anderson, for a lively afternoon of drawing inspired by Salazar: Portraits of Influence in Spanish New Orleans, 1785 – 1802 in the historic rotunda of the Ogden Museum’s Patrick F. Taylor Library. A curated experience linking the exhibition to an immersive drawing exercise, this workshop will explore the elements that create a striking portrait, discuss the socio-cultural implications of why portraits were/are painted and practice the basic techniques of figure drawing with a live nude model.
