Artist Workshop: Frame & Fabric as Metaphor with ricRACK
/// October 12 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Event Navigation
Led by ricRACK instructor Elysha Rose Diaz, workshop participants will up-cycle thrift store picture frames with scrap fabric using glue and fabric starch.
During the workshop, old frames will be transformed into new objects that are ready to accept paintings, photographs or sculptural inserts.
Inspired by work from the 2024 Louisiana Contemporary, presented by the Helis Foundation, participants will contemplate the purpose and metaphor of frame, fabric and subject within a cultural and historical context.
Workshop includes a brief tour of Louisiana Contemporary, presented by The Helis Foundation.
All materials included. Participants are encouraged to bring in old photographs, fabric scraps and frames from home to incorporate into the project.
