Spencer Gregory

Spencer Gregory is a photographer and filmmaker working out of New Orleans. Born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas, he discovered a passion for photography and video early on by ruining his father’s cameras. This early interest led him to pursue broadcast journalism in high school, being award the Broadcast Producer of the Year award by the Arkansas Scholastic Press Association in 2010. That same year he also coordinated a Guinness World Record breaking event (Longest Kickball Marathon, 36 hours), although the record was broken three months later. He then attended the University of New Orleans, receiving his BA from the Department of Film & Theater in 2014.

Spencer’s early experiences with journalism has imbued his work with an observational style, inspired by the gothic beauty of the south. The landscapes are often starkly contrasting, showcasing the natural charm of the region alongside its manmade decay. The people are colorful, diverse, and enigmatic. He plans to continue documenting the region, enticed by its innate, alluring mystery.
