SUMMARY:Craft Happy Hour
DESCRIPTION:Join Angel Chung Cutno for a Craft Happy Hour! Participants will learn the technique of paper quilling. \nQuilling is a method that uses thin strips of paper to roll\, curl\, scrunch and pinch into different shapes; then piecing them together to form a mosaic or using them as art garnish. In this workshop\, students will make postcards and decorate their own images with quilling or build an arrangement made entirely of paper. A few basic origami techniques will also be taught as another option for paper crafting. \nAll materials provided. Must be 18 or older to attend. Cutno’s mother passed down the Asian tradition of origami and taught her paper quilling at a young age. Angel Chung Cutno melds together various art forms to create textured narratives to express the fluidity of her untamable hair and experiences with cross-cultural identity.

Learn more about membership perks by visiting here. \nOgden After Hours is sponsored in part by the New Orleans Recreation and Culture Fund. \n\nAbout Caren Green \nCaren Green is a vocalist\, songwriter\, poet and musician from New Orleans\, whose work blends soul\, jazz\, gospel and hip-hop influences. A Xavier University of Louisiana alumna\, Green studied Vocal Performance under Dr. Ware and Earlin Vincent and piano with Dr. Coleman\, also mentoring with Broadway star Lady BJ Crosby. \nGreen’s debut album\, The Greenhouse Effect (2017)\, set the stage for performances at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival\, French Quarter Fest\, House of Blues and other notable venues. She has collaborated with Mia X\, Dee-1\, PJ Morton and shared stages with Juvenile\, Mystikal and Monica. Winner of the 2018 Sing Like a Star competition\, Caren Green is also a mother\, doula and child advocate\, channeling life experiences and spirituality into her music. \n\n\n\n\n\nHer forthcoming album\, Sunflower\, is slated for release in 2026.
