SUMMARY:YALA BABY ARTSPLAY!
DESCRIPTION:Join Young Audiences of Louisiana for “Baby Artsplay! TM\,” presented by The Helis Foundation. \nThis free 6-part workshop series is made possible by The Helis Foundation. The 30-minute workshops provide engaging arts-based activities designed to instruct caregivers on how to use the arts at home to promote early learning. Lessons are conducted by certified Louisiana Wolf Trap Teaching Artists\, who have expertly crafted multi-sensory experiences that foster children’s natural curiosity for learning. After each workshop\, children and their caregivers can download digital Connection Cards for tips on how workshop activities can be continued at home. \nOctober 13 – Workshop 1 – My Five Senses (Sensory Play) \nSensory play activities enrich your child’s world and develop critical connections in their young brain. At this week’s Young Audiences of Louisiana’s Baby Artsplay!™\, we will explore our senses by utilizing the arts and imagination. \nOctober 20 – Workshop 2 – Baby Says (Language) \nNurture an appreciation of art and build a strong language foundation for your early learner. During our next YALA Baby Artsplay!™ workshop\, we will do both! \nOctober 27 – Workshop 3 – My Body (Self-Awareness) \nHead\, shoulders\, knees and toes! Your toddler will learn them all–with a little help. We will show caregivers how they can use dance\, movement and music to reach a key learning milestone. \nNovember 3 – Workshop 4 – Let’s Move (Movement) \nWhether they are crawling\, walking or running\, young children are always moving– and that’s a good thing. Learn how you can keep your little one moving\, even if they aren’t walking yet \nNovember 10 – Workshop 5 – Up\, Down & All Around (Spatial Awareness) \nFor early learners\, a long hallway can seem endless\, but that’s just because they haven’t fully developed their spatial awareness. We will share how you can help your child better understand how they fit into the world around them. \nNovember 17 – Workshop 6 – Get Your Motor Running (Motor Skills) \nA toddler’s energy seems infinite before the nap-time crash. What if you could use art to focus that energy\, for their benefit (and yours!). \nRegister for one or all upcoming workshops: \nOct. 13 Oct. 20 Oct. 27 Nov. 3 Nov. 10 Nov. 17 \nAbout this session of “Baby Artsplay! TM\,” \nAs children reach the ages of 3 and 4 years old\, they are becoming little explorers. Their world is opening up. At this age their minds move quickly and they are processing the world around them through play. Children are also becoming more independent and are increasingly aware of others outside of their families. Created with your preschooler in mind\, these workshops tap into the “magic years” of three and four—a time when your child’s world will be dominated by fantasy and vivid imagination. \nAbout Young Audiences of Louisiana \nYoung Audiences of Louisiana is the leading provider of arts education and integration programs in the state of Louisiana. We offer a comprehensive and creative approach to educating young minds. Fortified with years of experience\, we draw upon our city’s strong arts culture to provide young people with tools to impact their worlds using art. Through our school performances\, arts-integrated residencies\, extended learning programs and community workshops we not only impact the children of New Orleans\, but make intentional contact with the influential adults in their lives. \nLearn More
