SUMMARY:Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes
DESCRIPTION:Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes rocks the house all the time every time! This classically trained New Orleans-based band delivers a smorgasbord of musical genres every time they hit the stage. JSDN defy easy categorization\, their irreverent funk is cut with rock riffs\, a Gypsy/Klezmer flare\, a Latin tinge courtesy of a hard hitting horn section\, and a sense of humor. \nJSDN is a collection of carefully crafted alter egos\, mystical musicians hesitant to share their personal selves but collectively ready to funk beyond the call of duty. The ensemble features Johnny Sketch (Marc Paradis) on guitar\, electric cello and lead vocals; Busta Gnutt (Dave Pomerleau) on bass and backing vocals; Dirty Johnny (Andre Bohren) on drums and backing vocals; and Johnny Rico (Omar Ramirez) on trumpet and flugelhorn:(Sage Rouge) on Saxophones. \nWith a live show that is as carefully crafted as their musical arrangements\, JSDN want the audience to have FUN; carrying them from a calm\, funky groove to a full blown frenzy at the drop of a hat. In New Orleans\, and across the country JSDN have developed a loyal following of die-hard fans. \nFormed in 2001\, JSDN have grown up together and as a band. That experience and cohesiveness is evident in every note they play. \nPurchase Tickets

SUMMARY:Mike Doussan
DESCRIPTION:New Orleans native Mike Doussan started playing in clubs around New Orleans in 2004 as a sit in musician. He quickly became a regular at The Apple Barrel playing blues with Mike Hood and the Frenchmen St. Delegation\, at Banks St. Bar playing funk with New Orleans Juice and anywhere Eric Lindell was taking stage with his blue eyed soul ensemble. It wasn’t long before he would start his own band\, Westbank Mike and the Fisher Project. Rooted in New Orleans funk and blues\, the Fisher Project would go on to win Best Blues Band at the 2006 Sonny Boy Blues Society’s battle of the bands. He has been a member of numerous New Orleans based bands including Gradoux\, Crescent City Allstars\, 101 Runners\, Six Strings Down\, Irene Sage Band and Dave Jordan and the Neighborhood Improvement Association. He has also played alongside Dr. John\, Warren Haynes\, Walter Wolfman Washington\, Tab Benoit\, Joe Bonamassa and Anders Osborne\, to name a few. Mike’s music is a melting pot of influences that come together to craft a familiar\, yet unique sound with a heavily New Orleans flavored backbone. His lyrics are easy to relate to and his music begs you dance\, a formula that entertains a diverse crowd wherever he plays. \nPurchase Tickets

SUMMARY:30x90 Blueswomen with special guest Al "Carnival Time" Johnson
DESCRIPTION:30X90 New Orleans Blueswomen are known for their raw\, deep-rooted blues\, New Orleans R&B\, originals and harmonies with an attitude. These Louisiana-born ladies got together post Katrina to help rebuild their city\, celebrate their survival\, and sing their blues. Influenced by Muddy Waters\, Big Mama Thornton\, the Meteres\, Etta James and others\, they regularly feature special solo artists. Why the name “30 x 90”? Coordinates for a good time\,  and New Orleans’ place on the planet! \nJohnson returned to New Orleans at the age of ten settling in the Lower 9th Ward. His early musical influences included Sugar Boy Crawford\, Fats Domino and Smiley Lewis\, to name a few. At 17\, he recorded his first songs\, “Ole Time Talkin\,” and “I’ve Done Wrong\,” for Aladdin Records. Johnson subsequently signed with Ric Records and recorded a series of songs at Cosimo Matassa’s recording studio starting with “Lena\,” in 1958. “Carnival Time” was recorded for the label in 1960 and is one of the most played and requested classics of the New Orleans Mardi Gras. \nIn 2007\, Johnson was inducted into The Louisiana Music Hall of Fame and also released the critically acclaimed “Lower 9th Ward Blues”\, reflecting the plight of his and many others dislocation from their homes after Hurricane Katrina. Johnson resides in the Harry Connick Jr. “Musicians’ Village” development in New Orleans for Hurricane Katrina refugee musicians. \nPurchase Tickets
