DESCRIPTION:Fine Arts FUNdamentals Camp: Session IV\nFor campers entering grades 2 – 5\nJuly 6 through July 10 (1 week) | 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. \nSpark your child’s creativity by enrolling your young artist in Fine Arts FUNdamentals\, facilitated by art educators Myron Solomon and Makayla Howard. \nDuring each week-long session\, campers will be immersed in creativity and discover the diverse world of Southern Art. In this series of small\, specialized camps\, kids in grades 2 through 5 explore various art forms\, including painting\, drawing\, printmaking\, sculpture\, and textiles\, while also learning about the artists who shape the South! \nEvery session is fresh\, fun and designed to inspire\, culminating in a special gallery exhibition celebrating campers’ amazing creations. DESCRIPTION:Fashion Institute\nFor campers entering grades 6 – 8\nJuly 13 through July 24 (2 weeks) | 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. \nWhat does the future of fashion look like? Join fashion designer Samar Malek in an engaging fashion program focused on sustainability. \nDrawing inspiration from the artwork on view\, students use the artwork in the galleries as inspiration to remix exhibition themes into a bold\, original collection of their own. Each morning\, students focus on designing a one-of-a-kind outfit for an end-of-program Fashion Show\, while afternoons include movement and runway planning. Throughout the two-week program\, participants learn sewing and design skills that include re-use\, repurpose and “greener” ways to dress\, while also honoring diverse bodies and aesthetics. \nFashion Institute culminates in a fun and sustainable Fashion Show that highlights the students’ design process and showcases their outfits in both action and function. \nCampers should come to camp each day with a water bottle\, snack\, lunch and an extra layer. \n$600 members / $650 not-yet-members \nThis camp is sold out.
