DESCRIPTION:Join Louisiana Contemporary\, presented by The Helis Foundation\, artist Paige Valente in a textile workshop. \nThe day begins with a brief artist-led discussion of her artwork in Louisiana Contemporary\, presented by The Helis Foundation. Then\, exploring New Orleans’ sense of place and community\, participants will paint images on the textile square. Details will be added using mixed media such as embroidery and fabric collage. \nAll workshops are conducted in a friendly and welcoming environment. Valente holds a BFA in Graphic Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design and an MA in Art Education from Boston University. She is a practitioner of inquiry-based learning and arts-based research where questions guide art-making and the investigative process. Outside of the studio\, Valente is a dedicated mother\, an avid runner and power yoga practitioner.
