In her twenties\, she worked as a photographer\, primarily with musicians\, including work that appeared on Grammy Award–winning records. At 24\, she became business and archive manager to Herman Leonard\, a role she held for a decade—and one that shaped everything that came after. \nAfter her early work as a photographer and her time with Leonard\, Bagert shifted to full-time work with artists and collections\, founding Jenny Bagert Consulting to focus on producing and managing photographic projects. She continues this work today and\, in 2020\, started Ground Control Consulting\, where she works on large-scale\, mission-driven projects with nonprofits. She is based in New Orleans\, her hometown and where she most wants to be.

SUMMARY:Art Studi-O
DESCRIPTION:Join artist Shawn Hall in an exploration of acrylic painting and visual language in this workshop inspired by the exhibition Vicinal Visions. Participants will investigate the concept of vicinal\, which suggests the development of a personal\, localized visual language. \nSome painting experience is helpful but not necessary. What is necessary is a conceptual interest in an idea to express\, be that about nature\, a personal experience or something about the world around you. With their personal interest in mind\, participants will be asked to develop an idea through symbolic or gestural language while mixing colors from a basic palette. Participants will develop their idea through one or more paintings. By the end of the workshop\, participants will have explored their own visual language through gesture and color. \nAll materials are provided. Must be 18 or older to attend.\nThe workshop includes a brief tour of the exhibition Vicinal Visions. \nQuestions?
