SUMMARY:Artist Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Join artist Arouna Guindo in an exploration of the human body and movement through sculpture. \nCreate a wire sculpture from observation of a live model. Choreographer Caleb Dowden will model various poses inspired by dance. Each participant will finish details of their sculpture with colored duct tape\, further accentuating the figure. Started by the Dow – Dance Company in 2022\, this process of creation is part of an ongoing project with the goal to archive ephemeral dance movements through art forms such as sculpture and painting. \nThis workshop includes a brief exhibition tour and discussion of related work featured in Knowing Who We Are: A 20th Anniversary Exhibition. \nAll workshops are conducted in a friendly and welcoming environment. All materials are provided and all levels are welcomed. \n$45 member/ $50 non-member \nRegister\n\n \n \n \n \n Image Courtesy of Arouna Guindo\n \n \n \n \n \n Image Courtesy of Arouna Guindo

SUMMARY:OGDEN AFTER HOURS

Learn more about membership perks by visiting here. \n\nAbout Blind Texas Marlin \nPhoto courtesy of Adrienne Battistella \nJohn Curry started Blind Texas Marlin as a solo project in New Orleans\, Louisiana shortly before Hurricane Katrina. After the Storm\, Curry fell in with a group of musicians and formed a proper band. The band toured the United States in various incarnations for a few year until 2015. From  2015 till 2022\, Blind Texas Marlin had its first consistent line up of 5 members. During this time the band held a 10 year residency at the Circle Bar and a 2 year residency at One Eyed Jacks – both well-known music venues in the city at the time. In 2020 both residencies came to an end due to the halt of live music during the COVID-19 Pandemic. The 5 piece band will play its first show in over a year at Ogden Museum’s OAH taking place on January 18. \nListen to Blind Texas Marlin Press\n\n\nAbout Ogden After Hours \nOgden After Hours (OAH) is a monthly event that takes place on select Thursdays and features a diverse lineup of programs reflecting and celebrating the diversity of Southern art and culture. Bringing the whole family? Each OAH offers a unique art activity table for kids to enjoy!
