DESCRIPTION:Adult Photography Studio: Session II\nThursdays\, 1-4 p.m.\nNovember 3\, 10\, 17 and December 1\, 8 \nDiscover a new way of seeing and explore digital photography this fall at Ogden Museum. Join teaching artist\, Leah Floyd\, for a fun five-week Adult Photography Class that not only teaches the basic elements of photography (such as composition\, exposure and the functions of the camera)\, but also challenges you to create meaningful and thought-provoking work. The course will cover topics such as the still life\, portraiture\, collage and creating a series based on a chosen theme. You will learn about past and contemporary photographers and receive feedback on your images during class discussions and individual pointers from the instructor. Join us as we use photography as a tool to better observe and understand our world! \nCameras not provided\, photographers may use any type of digital camera (including phone cameras). Email education@ogdenmuseum.org. \n$220 members / $240 non-members \nRegister\nAbout Leah Floyd\nLeah Floyd hails from Florida but has called New Orleans her home since moving to Louisiana after she received her MFA in Creative Photography from the University of Florida.  Floyd is a multidisciplinary artist utilizing photography and textiles to explore our relationship to the land in the South. She enjoys spending her time teaching photography at Loyola University\, working in the studio\, and riding her motorcycle around the swamp.

DESCRIPTION:Join artist Gregory B. Saunders to learn the basics of figure drawing. Use charcoal and other mark-making media to explore proportion and form while drawing from a live nude model. The workshop includes a guided-tour of Leaving Appalachia: The Art of Gregory B. Saunders. \nFor ages 21 and older. All levels welcome \nAll materials will be provided. \n$40 Member / $45 Non-member   \nREGISTER\nGregory B. Saunders\, Siren Series: Song of Appalachia\, 2017\, Powdered graphite on paper 101″ x 53″\, Collection of the artist \nAbout Gregory B. Saunders \nGregory B. Saunders is a visual artist whose work has been exhibited internationally and is in the collection of several museums including Ogden Museum of Art\, New Orleans Museum of Art and The Goddard Center. Working in powdered graphite on rag paper\, Saunders creates large drawings with photo-like clarity and detail. These drawings are done in a series and exhibited along with his sculptures\, which are created in an abstract vein as a counterpoint to the graphite work. In addition to his extensive exhibition record\, Saunders has created original art for Pensacola Opera’s season programs\, designed a set for Loveland Opera Theater\, as well exhibitions for The Country Music Hall of Fame. Saunders currently lives in Pensacola\, Florida\, where he teaches drawing at the University of West Florida.
