Will Henry Stevens (1881-1949) spent much of his life around water, growing up on the banks of the Ohio River, exploring the Mississippi River delta in New Orleans, and spent summers spent hiking around creeks and coves in Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee. His observation of abstract qualities in reflections, and response to the fluid nature of water, can be seen in many of his works. Taking a cue from the memorable 1994 exhibition Mountains to the Sea, this collection takes us on a journey of Stevens’ work through the water cycle, and from one body of water to the next. Paperback, 2015. 40 pages, color and b&w illustrations throughout.
