Bo Bartlett is an American realist painter working in the tradition of realism that stretches from Winslow Homer to Edward Hopper and Andrew Wyath. His paintings are often explorations of his roots in the American South including family, home, water and sea, beauty, life and death. This is the first mid-career retrospective published, created to celebrate the opening of the Bo Bartlett Center in his hometown of Columbus, George. Bartlett’s work is in collections at the Seattle Art Museum, the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, the Denver Museum of Art, and the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia.
